Edward C. Boltz Inducted as Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy – Class 37

Durham, North Carolina — Edward C. Boltz, managing partner of the Law Offices of John T. Orcutt, P.C., has been inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy as a member of its 37th Class. Mr. Boltz has long been a leader in consumer bankruptcy law. As managing partner of the Law Offices of John T. Orcutt, P.C., he represents debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases and litigates consumer protection matters involving mortgage servicing and student loans. He is Board Certified as a Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the North Carolina State Bar and is admitted to practice before all federal district courts in North Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

A past President of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), Mr. Boltz continues to serve on its Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of its Legislative Committee. His advocacy has included testimony before Congress on student loan reform and bankruptcy protections, as well as participation in federal rulemaking efforts addressing student loan relief.

Mr. Boltz also served as a Commissioner on the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Consumer Bankruptcy Commission and has been instrumental in developing bankruptcy practice innovations in North Carolina, including work on mortgage modification programs within the bankruptcy courts.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Boltz has contributed to legal education as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Law and is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences.
