Edgecombe County, NC has a population of 53,964 (Census 2006 est.) and 505.03 square miles of romantically rural territory in Eastern NC. From the brick paved sidewalks in Tarboro's Downtown Historic District to the white sands of the NC coastline is only a couple of hours. Edgecombe County still has many descendents of the original settlers living here - the Tuscarora Indians.

Edgecombe County, North Carolina is only an hour’s drive from Raleigh, yet is quite rural. Edgecombe claims 505.03 square miles of some of the most productive farms in NC as well as some of the country's most advanced manufacturing facilities. While thought to have been established decades before, Edgecombe County, NC was officially formed in 1741. Edgecombe County is home to NC's second oldest textile mill. The Town of Tarboro was established in 1760 and became the county seat in 1764.
